Along with Pinterest TV, Pinterest is launching a virtual studio where Pinterest producers work directly with each creator to develop unique content, providing “backstage” A/V support, and go live with engaging episodes. That will help expand the platform’s live shopping focus, and give more creators more opportunities to sell within the app.

What is Pinterest TV Studio App?

On May 2, Pinterest launched a new app aimed at making it easier for creators to livestream to its platform. The new Pinterest TV Studio app for iOS and Android will allow select creators to go live on Pinterest as well as use multiple devices in order to achieve different camera angles, the app’s description states.

Creators have to enter in a code or scan a barcode that Pinterest provides in order to gain access to the livestreaming tools the app provides.

The app is available in several markets outside the U.S., including Canada, Australia, the U.K. and Germany — signaling a potential global expansion of Pinterest TV efforts. “With more Creators developing innovative programming with Pinterest TV on the Platform, we’re continuously experimenting with new ways to help Creators bring their ideas to life,” a spokesperson said.

How to Host a Successful Pinterest TV Livestream Shopping Event 

  1. Promote your sale ahead of the event on other social media channels, your email list, and other marketing channels to drive more people to the event. Highlight the time (and time zone), which social media platform the event will be aired on.
  2. Choose the products that you truly love.
  3. The first three minutes are vital for keeping your audience engaged or they will exit quickly. 
  4. Show excitement about the product you’re selling. Remember WIIFM. 
  5. Make people feel they matter, and you appreciate them attending. 
  6. Talk as if you were speaking to a friend, be yourself, be personable. 
  7. Create a visually appealing set. Choose a location that is in keeping with the theme of the show. If you’re showing skin care products, then it would be good to do that in your bathroom. 
  8. Do a dress rehearsal.
