10 Top Content Ideas for Your Pinterest Audience

10 Top Pinterest Content Ideas

Why Content Marketing is Vital to Your Business

With so much online competition eyeballs you want to make sure you’re creating the right types of content at the right time. You can’t wing this on Pinterest and think you can just post whatever or whenever you want. Creating great content matters if you want to grow audience engagement, grow your brand presence, and drive traffic & sales. Content marketing is critical to growing your business. That’s why you are going to love my 10 top Pinterest content ideas.

Content marketing is important because it answers your audience’s questions and helps you build trust, develop relationships, improve conversions, and generate leads. Your customers expect high-quality, consistent content from their favorite Pinterest creators and brands.

Pinterest Content Strategy

A content strategy is a plan in which you use your own content to achieve your business goals. A successful content strategy will attract your target audience at every stage of their buying journey and keep them engaged even after a purchase.

Say your business goal on Pinterest is to increase brand awareness. To achieve this, you might decide to share a blog post or offer a free download in exchange for their email address. You’re trying to build trust initially because you’re just starting out on Pinterest.

To develop a successful plan, you need to clearly define your target audience — also known as your buyer persona. I go over how to do that in detail in chapter 2 of my Pinterest Marketing for Business course. By knowing your target audience, you can produce more relevant and valuable content that they’ll want to read and convert on. This is one of the important keys to my 10 top Pinterest content ideas.

Where to Content Ideas on Pinterest

Bloggers, publishers, and Pinterest creators should always have a mix of evergreen and trending topics. Start with nine Pinterest content ideas.

  1. Pinterest Predicts Weekly in Pinterest Business Community

The search trends in Pinterest Predicts Weekly aren’t just from the last four weeks. All these search queries have been growing for the past year.

According to Pinterest, to make the trend lines, they first take the raw search volume from the last 12 months. To remove platform seasonality, they then index the search volume against the volume of all searches on Pinterest. Pinterest normalize the trend line so that they can compare trends and better see what ideas are trending together.

  1. Pinterest Trends

The Pinterest Trends tool is available to businesses in US, UK, and Canada to 30 additional countries and 22 languages globally, offering enriched industry-first insights into when top search terms peak.

Pinterest Trends shows what people are searching for right now, what they are excited about. You will quickly see when Pinners start searching for a plethora of topics and what content is popular on Pinterest. Naturally you want to use these insights to create timely and relevant content.

As you type into the search bar, you’ll see a list of suggested terms, which are real searches that appear on Pinterest. The search bar shows common and trending search terms that are relevant to the topic you’ve entered. Pinterest Trends allows marketers to understand the behavior of their audience.

What’s more, the Pinterest Trends tool lets you compare multiple keywords by entering up to four terms in the search bar at the same time. The tool will compare the popularity of the keywords you’ve entered over the past 12 months and show you the comparisons in a graph. It’s a way for marketers to better understand how consumers discover and research products and services throughout the customer journey so that you can create your content at the right moment.

You can also use these insights to formulate your ad campaigns. Knowing the best time of the year to launch your campaign will help you maximize the performance of your content.

Pinterest Expert Actionable Tips for Using Pinterest Trends

a. Plan your monthly content in a calendar based on searches

You can find search terms related to your product or service within Pinterest Trends. Use the results to create a list of keywords that may be worth targeting. Promote specific content related to the searches to reach your target audience.”

b. Looking for a new concept for your product/service

Determine what you products and services you can offer that will meet the needs of your target audience throughout their customer journey.

  1. Pinterest Search Engine

The Pinterest search engine is the first place most Pinners go to when searching for something. It’s literally giving us market intelligence about what people care most about today. Naturally Pinterest picks up on all this data and Pinterest will always show you the most popular keywords based on what you typed in the search box.

For example, if I type in HOME DECOR (as shown below) Pinterest will show me the most popular topics that people search for the highest search volume to the least. So, if you’re thinking about creating content around home décor it would be smart for you to start with living room ideas. You’ll also notice home styles from Zen, to Girly, Organic Modern, and more.

As you can see in my 10 top Pinterest content ideas there are many places where you can research to find the right content your audience will gobble up. Remember that if you’re new on Pinterest the first step is to establish your brand presence. I mean seriously, how will you court your audience? It starts with providing helpful content they care most about so that they can solve their problems and fulfill their lifelong dreams, goals, and aspirations. In that way, your audience will trust you and when they are ready to buy, they’ll think of you first because you were there for them during their buying journey when they needed you most.

Remember that images and videos is the starting point of connecting with your ideal audience. If your image doesn’t speak to their wants, needs, and problems they’re not going to click on that image. That means no outbound links going to your blog or website. No traffic = no sales.  You need to get your images right.
