Do your spa day at home spa facial in the evening. Never put on makeup after a facial which is why I recommend you do your facials after dinner time and when you know you’re staying in for the rest of the night.
Remove heavy makeup with Sephora’s Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover using a cotton pad. I love this product because it doesn’t contain any alcohol & it literally removes all my waterproof eye makeup. My skin is sensitive and I didn’t feel any burning sensation or feel irritation. It’s also free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates and is also vegan. I love that they make it as clean as possible.
The search term “spa day at home” has been skyrocketing on Pinterest since so many of us now have more time than we are used to. Since spas have been on a mandatory lock down due to COVID-19 we don’t have any choice but to continue our spa treatments at home. Besides the convenience of an at home spa facial we also save time and money. And that’s a good thing right.
If you’ve never done your own spa day at home facial or have never experienced one at a spa then I’m glad you are reading this.
I’ve learned so much about how to achieve healthy, clear skin since 1983. That year alone I went through four beauty pageants, two of which were overseas. I’ve had hundreds of makeup artists’ work on my face over the course of many years. I’ve had events & obligations as a beauty queen and modeling contracts. Then I went on to teach modeling & makeup artistry which led me to operating a luxury, wellness day spa. So over the years I have seen, done and learned a ton about skin care.
So queue up your playlist, light a fancy candle, and prepare for some much-deserved self-care using this checklist for an easy, relaxing spa day at home facial done in the comfort of your own home.
First, I’m going to assume you have the right products for your skin type and skin condition. That’s important since you want to get the best results. If you aren’t confident you have the right products I’m going to recommend some clean beauty & natural skin care products that I believe will do wonders for your face. I’ll only recommend products that I have used and know work!
Let’s begin.
Product recommendations:
Exfoliation is a must. Don’t even think twice about NOT doing it. You’ve got to slough off those dead skin cells so that your products will perform better. When people tell me their products are ‘so so’ and it’s not really working the first thing I ask is if they exfoliate and how often they exfoliate.
When I am doing my weekly facials I use Indee Lee’s Radiance Renewal Peel. I love the convenience of this product. No mess, no rinsing required I just let the pad do its thing.
How to use:
Since the Radiance Renewal Peel isn’t advisable for the lip area you’ll need Pure Fiji’s Coconut Sugar Lip Polish.
Why you’ll love Pure Fiji’s Coconut Sugar Lip Polish:
How to use:
Steaming is so relaxing and I love smelling all the different herbs and essentials oils. Steaming opens up your pores to make it easier for you to do your extractions. When preparing my own spa day at home I prefer to use fresh herbs but dried ones are fine too.
Hydration
Sensitive skin
Oily skin
Acneic skin
Mature skin
Extractions should really be left to the pros so I’m hesitant to even tell you how to do this. If you do this incorrectly you will end up scarring your face especially those of you who have medium to dark skin.
Blackheads are typically in the surface so after you’ve had some training you could probably do that on your own, but they have to be ready to come out. You can’t force them.
How to extract blackheads VERY carefully:
When it comes to cysts which is this white hard lump under the skin don’t even think about touching those. You’ll need to use retinol as a treatment. I’ll cover that in future blog posts.
The best part of getting a facial at a spa is the massage portion. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve slept through it, it’s heavenly when you have an esthetician work their magic fingers.
While you may not get the full benefit of a spa massage jade rollers are a simple alternative.
You’ve probably seen jade rollers popping up for the last couple of years or so. They are not new. People have been using jade facial rollers to massage the face since the 17th century.
Benefits of using face rollers include; flushing toxins from the skin, smoothens fine lines, decreases dark circles and under-eye bags, eases tension headaches, temporarily reduces swelling, calms inflammation, heals pimples, and brightens the skin.
How to use: Apply a few drops of Indee Lee’s Squalane Facial Oil to your face then gently roll the jade up, down, and all across your skin until the product is absorbed. Do this for about four minutes.
When it comes to a mask you can either make your own or try Pure Fiji’s natural masks. The Dilo and Coconut Hydrating Masque is ideal for dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin and those showing some signs of ageing. The Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque is great for oily skin.
How to use:
I absolutely love how Indee Lee’s COQ-10 TONER is alcohol-free (that’s important!) and how it feels on my face – it’s so refreshing.
The Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera based essence helps to hydrate and re-balance your skin. Formulated with antioxidant CoQ-10 and Sage, this non-drying formula leaves skin primed and protected from pollution and environmental aggressors. It’s great for all skin types especially those with combination and oily skin type.
How to use:
After you rinse your mask, mist toner on skin and wipe away any excess residue with a cotton pad, avoiding the eye area.

Indee Lee’s Stem Cell Serum contains Echinacea Stem Cells designed to improve the appearance of skin firmness, Alpine Rose helps protect against environmental stressors while nourishing Bamboo extracts and Hyaluronic Acid leave skin hydrated and supple.
How to use:
Great for fine lines, environmental protection, ideal for normal, dry and sun damaged skin Indee Lee’s Super fruit Facial Cream helps skin appear smoother, supple and with a healthy youthful glow.
Enriched with Vitamin C and skin smoothing natural Peptides, this reparative blend nourishes and brightens the complexion. Hyaluronic Acid hydrates and AHAs gently help with texture and tone. Pomegranate, Acai Berry and Acerola Fruit extracts work together with Algae to condition and protect the complexion from environmental stressors. Sounds amazing right?
For those with oily skin I recommend Indee Lee’s Active Oil-Free Moisturizer.
How to use:
Gently massage the cream into your face, neck, and décolleté.
For the final step you’ll want to finish off with Indee Lee’s I-Waken Eye Serum. Light textured daily eye serum with Horse Chestnut, Mountain Ash Bud and Witch Hazel to address dark circles and puffiness. Calming Chamomile, Arnica and Cornflower soothe and refresh the delicate eye area. Antioxidant Spirulina and Blackcurrant Leaf extracts hydrate, nourish and protect, while powerful humectants leave skin with a more smooth and firm appearance.
How To Use:
Gently apply to the eye contour lightly tapping your fingers on the delicate skin surrounding your eyes. Use morning and evening to soothe, hydrate and rejuvenate.
Now that you have a clean, fresh face doesn’t it deserve to lay on something soft and clean? The worst thing you can do is have all that dust, dirt, and dry skin flakes get back on your face from your pillow case. Sounds kinda of yucky. Don’t forget to place your clean beauty products in your skin care fridge too. They will make your natural skin care producsts last longer too!
I absolutely make time for my weekly spa day at home facials. If you really want beautiful, radiant skin it’s important that you stick with a consistent routine. With so much going on these days it’s easy to forget why we need to take care ourselves but we need to do so more than ever. Be good to yourself. Breathe. Sweet Dreams.
