How to Create The Right Pinterest Pin Size Image and Videos To Get More Impressions, Clicks and Repins
There’s a ton of information out there on how to create the right types of images that go viral on Pinterest. If you’re wondering why you should read this blog post know this…. as a Pinterest Marketing Expert I’m not going to rehash the same old information you have seen before. The aim here is new info.
First let me share some hush hush news. Did you know that Pinterest is experimenting with “Create a collage”? This news was released by renowned App researcher Jane Manchun Wong on Twitter.
So I think to myself, what is the primary goal of creating these collages? I think from a users point of view it’s great for putting outfits together, maybe you want to change up your room decor for the new season, the possibilities are endless really.
For businesses using Pinterest, this method is nothing new. I’ve always recommended multi-product shots for fashion and home decor products. You can easily do this in Canva. Canva has templates that you can use right away. There is no need for you to wait for this new feature.
I’m going to share with you some changes Pinterest recently made about how your images look on mobile and desktop. You need to keep up with Pinterest’s constant changes because you want to make sure you’re not wasting time and money.
Pinterest Marketing Expert Tip: If you continue to do things that no longer work then you can’t really expect to great results from Pinterest. Fair?
Unfortunately, you don’t know what you don’t know. Pinterest will not always inform you of all the little changes they make. So if you want to make sure you don’t miss any vital information make sure you visit my blog regularly.
Okay, let’s begin!
In 2018 Pinterest officially told us that your images can be as long as 1,260 in pixels. In addition they recommended that your logo placement should be on the bottom left, or bottom center, or top left or top center. Well that is no longer the case today. Here’s what I mean.
Have a look at the image below that were originally sized at 1,260 in length. Pinterest cuts off the bottom part and you can’t see the website URL. Not good especially for brand awareness.
Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen to you!
Pinterest Marketing Expert Actionable Tips for 2019
a. Standard images: Don’t make the size longer than 1,100 pixels.
b. Promoted Video at standard width
c. Promoted Video at max. width

Text overlay incorporates copy into your in without compromising design. Use it to clarify your message, showcase an offer, or make your call to action loud and clear.
Place your logo or website URL on the top or somewhere in the middle. If I had to choose one or the other as a Pinterest Marketing Expert I would choose placing the logo somewhere in the middle just in case Pinterest makes changes to the length size. It’s simply a safer choice.
In addition when you place your logo or website URL in the middle people will most likely not steal your images. When people want to steal other people’s images they typically look for images where the logo or website URL are on the bottom or top because they can easily trim that area.
